TRAVEL PROGRAMME - ultra trail cape town 2019
Runcation SA is partnering with UTCT to offer their Official Travel Programme again in 2019.
We offer you, the UTCT runner:
1) A seamless, stress-free experience during your time in Cape Town, from the minute you arrive, in the lead-up to the race, the event itself, until you head home.
Pierre Malet recommends Runcation South Africa. “Top-notch service, everything went smooth with the Runcation team, nothing to think about but the race! And these guys are wonderful, they definitely have great gees! If you intend to run someday in SA, Runcation is to be trusted beyond any apprehension!”
2) You will get to be part of the UTCT vibe during the race build up. Flexibility is key – you let us know when you want to be part of the activities and when you want a little quiet time to prepare for the challenge that lies ahead.
Julie Steele recommends Runcation South Africa. “For logistical ease, we booked a package with a local South African travel agency, Runcation South Africa, which was set up about a year ago by two passionate trail runners, Luke and Lance, who combine running events with travelling adventures. Apart from standard things like accommodation, the package included all transfers to the race venue (dropped right at the front entrance of the race village like VIPs), a chance to experience the Table Mountain trails prior to the event, as well as sightseeing excursions around Cape Town and the Cape Peninsular. We had opportunities to meet and mingle with elite runners from the race – and even took a couple of selfies when I finally mustered the courage to ask! Throughout the race, the Runcation media team would interview us at key aid stations, and post the video interviews onto Facebook so people at home could follow our exploits, station by station. Sharing the week with a small group of other Runcation runners from around the world really added to the race experience. ”
3) Visiting Cape Town and going on a South African Safari are bucket list experiences, we’ll build a vacation for you to take advantage of your visit to the country and your post UTCT bliss. From golden beaches to roaring lions, we've got you covered.
Julie Steele recommends Runcation South Africa “Jess and I ventured off for 2 weeks of post-race safaris, including glamping, savouring South African gin and photographic overload in various parts of Kruger National Park, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe (including Victoria Falls). To me, races like the UTCT are a wonderful “excuse” to explore beautiful parts of the world, not just to complete the run itself. What better way to recover from a 65 km run than hiking for 7 km each day, slowly through Kruger National Park on foot, photographing the most stunning and majestic wildlife on the planet.”
