FAQ'S

Q: What do I get when I book into the Travel Programme?

A: Everyone stayign with us gets the following: return airport transfers, hotel accommodation, shuttle transfers for all official events from when you arrive through Sunday afternoon; a daily shuttle service between the hotel and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Over and above that you can also join us for classic Cape Town experiences all with a UTCT touch.

Q: What flexibility do I have around the planned Travel Programme items?

A: Total flexibility. If you would prefer a private tour, or to do your own sightseeing or just go to the beach and shops, this is te way you should spend your week.  The UTCT day experiences we offer are designed to give you a sense of the race, while showing you Cape Town’s finest.  Both tours are designed to get you back to the hotel in the early afternoon, so you have time to relax and move to your own rhythm.  Additionally, if you have chosen to stay after UTCT rather than arrive early, we will run the tours after the weekend too.  We may revise the tour schedules due to this.  Don’t stress - reach out to us, and we’ll make sure you are sorted.

Q: I like the look of the activities listed, but would prefer to them after the event is finished. Is that possible?

A: Yes. See answer above. We’ll take you up Table Mountain for a great view over where you ran, and do the tour to Cape Point.  Tuesday Trails will be happening, you know when.

Q: What if I get injured and can no longer run?

A: We have set up cancellation fees to be as reasonable as we can. If you get injured please let us know asap, so that we can minimize any applicable cancellation fees due. Each case will be treated individually. Details of deposit dates and cancellation fees will be on your invoice.

Q: What if I am part of a group, can we still join your Programme?

A: We are set up to deal with groups. Just send us the contact details of your group organiser and we will get in touch to make sure your group is sorted.

Q: I am part of a group, can we do the experiences for our group only?

A: Yes, absolutely, we will arrange an exclusive vehicle and guide for your group only. Note: there might be slight adjustments to costs.

Q: I have heard there was a water shortage in Cape Town last year. What is the water situation and how will this affect my stay?

A: Things have improved a lot. We are about to start the rainy season, and water levels are already fine. In addition, the adjustments made due the the drought mean the hotels, the city and the people, are now water wise in both behaviour and infrastructure.

Q: What if I want to bring my family?

A: Families are most welcome. We cater for all. Just let us know the ages of kids and we will place you in the appropriate room setup.

Q: I am bringing my family, some of whom are not running. How can they be part of the event?

A: We welcome and cater fully for hosting non-running family members. We include them in all pre-race activities or their choice, and on race day we will assist them to get to supporter points and aid stations on the route to see their runners along the way. Let us know, and we will work out the best plan for them.

Q: I have very specific dietary requirements can they be catered for inside this programme?

A: Yes, we can cater for any dietary requirement. Just send us the details well in advance.

Q: What if I have not yet booked my flights?

A: That is fine, you can secure your place on the Official Travel Programme, and indicate which Travel Package you think will work for you, pay your deposit and update us once your flights are booked, so that we can adjust your invoice and package booking to be accurate.

Q: I am single traveler but don’t want to pay the single supplement. Can I share?

A: We can put you in a twin bedded room sharing with another single traveler, or allocate you a room with someone you know. We cannot assume responsibility for finding someone to share with you, but will do introductions where two single travellers are both looking to share.

Q: What if I want to do other activities on my own?

A: Of course, you are most welcome to do so. We can assist in recommending activities and operators that we know and trust. We can also help with planning the best times to fit in with the rest of the programme.

Q: What if I want to go on Safari elsewhere in South Africa or further afield?

A: There are amazing game reserves and safari lodges all over South Africa: the legendary Kruger National Park, the malaria free Southern and Eastern Cape, plus KZN safaris and even Madikwe and Pilanesberg. We can also offer safaris in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia or Zimbabwe for you.  The Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert and Lower Zambezi are once in a lifetime destinations.  Our experienced travel advisors will be in touch to assist you with bookings for Safaris and all other types of travel to add on to your stay before or after the Official Programme.
